Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Mount Union's Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Led by Mount Union expert faculty, the Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the University of Mount Union is the region's leader for in-demand training and education in one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. The Center oversees academic programs related to data science and artificial intelligence, supports university faculty as they integrate discipline-appropriate AI into their courses, and supports university and community partners through workforce development, outreach, consultations, student internships, and collaborative projects in data analytics and artificial intelligence.

Skills for Undergraduates

Through the major in data science and analytics, its minors in artificial intelligence and in applied artificial intelligence, and integration of AI throughout the undergraduate curriculum, Mount Union students are equipped with the tools they need to succeed in a workforce that increasingly demands expertise in data analytics and AI.

Support for Faculty

The Center has developed an innovative “AI Fellows” training program that empowers faculty to explore the implications of artificial intelligence within their specific disciplines and to integrate both foundational AI concepts and discipline-specific AI applications into their courses. This program supports faculty in designing meaningful learning experiences that reflect the evolving role of AI in their fields, ensuring students gain both general literacy and relevant, applied skills.

Training for Working Professionals

The Center for Data Science and AI provides continuing education opportunities to meet increasing workforce needs and develop influential leaders. By engaging with regional employers, the Center aims to support their employees by developing sought-after skills.

Community Outreach and Partnerships

The Center engages with community organizations to discuss the latest developments in data analytics and AI. It also partners with organizations by placing university students in internships, consulting on business needs, and supporting collaborative projects. Interested in working with the Center?
