Alumni Weekend and Homecoming

Welcome home! Alumni from all grad years are welcome back to campus each year for Alumni Weekend and Homecoming.

We’ll provide campus, programming, and a fun-filled atmosphere – all we need is you to come home! Call your friends, pack up the family, or jump in the car and ride solo to join us for Alumni Weekend and Homecoming. The Alumni Weekend and Homecoming schedule will offer an array of events and entertainment options to allow you to have some Mount Union fun.

The full schedule of events will be made available and reservations for Alumni Weekend and Homecoming will open during the summer of 2019. Please call the Office of Alumni Engagement at (330) 823-2030 for more information.


Hotel Information 

Information regarding overnight accommodations can be found on our About Alliance page, where you'll also find information about restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and overnight accommodations. If you haven't been back to town in a while, you'll definitely want to check out the extensive development of State Street and the perimeter of campus. Mention Mount Union when making your reservation to receive a discount.

36th Annual 5k Run-A-MUC       
8 a.m., Peterson Field House
The 35th Annual 5K Run-A-MUC is sponsored by National Interstate Insurance. Race day check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. in the Peterson Fieldhouse, and the race begins in front of the Peterson Fieldhouse at 8 a.m. Participants in the Run-A-MUC must read and agree to the waiver on the registration form to participate. The cost for pre-registration is $20, and it's $25 the day of the event. Participants must pre-register by October 9 to receive a race shirt. (A Mount Union sport business student coordinates this annual Homecoming 5K run) 

Kid's Activities (free)
8:15 - 9 a.m., Peterson Field House 
Join education students for fun games in the fieldhouse including egg and spoon, a crab walk, a mini race, and more. "Future Raider" t-shirts are available for the first 25 children. Pre-registration is requested. Please indicate your child's age and shirt size. Children must be accompanied by an adult to participate.   

Alumni Brunch
9:30 - 11 a.m., Tent in King Hall parking lot 
This highlight event of Alumni Weekend recognizes milestone reunion classes and legacy families plus a short presentation of our Alumni Award recipients. Enjoy a special musical sharing by the Mount Union Choir including, the choir alumni. All alumni and friends are invited to attend this event.  

This year's award winners include:

  • Dodie Davis Alumni Service Award
  • McKinley Fellow Award
  • Young Alumni Award

The event features a sit down buffet brunch beginning promptly at 9:30 a.m. Please plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m. for your nametag and assigned seating.

The cost is $12 for adults (ages 10-adult) and $5 for children (ages 2-9). Pre-registration is requested by October 9. Please RSVP by calling (330) 823-2030. Game day/business casual attire is appropriate.

Alumni Weekend Headquarters
10 a.m. - 2 p.m., tent near the stadium
Stop by the tent outside the main stadium entrance, where you can create a nametag, pick up a campus map and walking tour information, update your contact information, pick up a schedule of events, and purchase an Alumni Weekend t-shirt for $10 (two designs).

University Store open (bookstore)
10 a.m. - 5 p.m., HPCC 
Visit the University Store to purchase Raider gear and other items for the entire family.

MUcaw Family FunZone
11 a.m. - 1:15 p.m., Quad
Bring the kids to the MUcaw Family FunZone for games, a bounce house, balloon art, ice cream truck, and activities. 

Photo Area
11 - 1:15 p.m., Mount Union Stadium
Stop by the photo area outside the southeast corner of the Mount Union Stadium to take fun group photos with friends, family, and classmates. Reunion group photos, legacy family photos, and family/friend photos are encouraged. Be sure to hold up your reunion year sign!


Pre-Law Alumni Brunch
10 a.m. - noon
Former Legal Studies minor, Pre-Law minors, and Pre-Law Society members are invited to join Dr. DeSario and current students for brunch and networking. Please RSVP to  

'40s, '50s, and '60s Reunions
11 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Classmates from those eras are invited to join in the East Room of the Campus Center. Enjoy sharing memories and what you've been doing for the past few years with one another.  

'70s, '80s, '90s, and 00s
11 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Classmates from the 1970s through 2000s are invited to stop by our tent in the Gulling parking lot for refreshments and socializing with one another. Are you interested in a more formal reunion gathering for your class? Contact us at to discuss! Classmates contacting classmates to return to campus is invaluable. Sign up to be a class agent for your class.

Education Reunion
11 a.m. - 1:15 p.m., Tent on southeast corner of Mount Union Stadium
Alumni with an education major and/or minor (undergraduate and graduate) are invited back to campus to reunion together. Join faculty and current students in the tent between the stadium and the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex for refreshments, hear about the educational leadership graduate program, and connect with faculty and current students.

Alumni Swim Meet and Cookout
11 a.m., Hammond Natatorium
Ready to get  back in the pool...or cheer on fellow alumni? Men and women alumni swimmers are invited to the annual alumni swim meet with the current team. Warm-ups begin at 11 a.m. with the meet starting at noon. A cookout will follow on the south lawn of Chapman Hall. Contact Coach Mojock at for more information and to register.

Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center
1 - 5 p.m., 16146 Daniel St. NE (Minerva)
Stop by the Nature Center to enjoy walking trails and the amazing visitor center. The center is located six miles south of Mount Union on Daniel Street, just off of Route 183 (Union Avenue). 

Football vs. Capital
1:30 p.m., Mount Union Stadium 
Game tickets are $10 each and are only available at the gate. There will be no advanced ticket sales. All seats are reserved in the stadium (both sides are considered home).

Post-Game Gatherings for ALL alumni to attend
3:30 p.m. and beyond
All alums within each decade are invited to join together to socialize and visit with classmates at the following locations on their own.

Classmates from the class of 1994 plus before and after are invited to join together on the patio at Chives Grille (formerly the Bier Haus). Share stories and memories to relive the good times!

Black Student Union Alumni Gathering
5:30 - 9 p.m., Campus Grounds, Hoover-Price Campus Center
Come and socialize with former members of the BSU during an evening full of music, conversation, and refreshments. Catch up with fellow members and friends. RSVP to Callie Flonnoy at or (330) 823-2039.  


Baseball Alumni Game and Cookout
Noon, 23rd Street Field 
Former members of the Mount Union baseball team are invited back to campus to participate in an alumni game. Come back to play one inning, the whole game, or assist in other ways.  Stay after the game for a cookout at the Naborhood Inn ("Hood") to socialize with former Raiders.
