ALUMNI WEEKEND AND HOMECOMING

We look forward to seeing alumni, friends, and family on campus for Alumni Weekend and Homecoming 2025! Check out the list of activities and events scheduled for this year, which include a variety of reunions, celebrations, athletic events, Run-A-MUC, and so much more!

Events for Friday, October 3, 2025

  1. Reunions

    6-9 p.m., Music Department Reunion, Giese Center for the Performing Arts
    In recognition of its 50th Reunion, the Class of 1975 is hosting and warmly inviting older and younger classmates from the Classes of 1972-1978 who were involved with the Department of Music (major, minor, choir, band, etc.) for an evening of sweet memories. Food and beverages will be provided. Advanced registration is required.

    7 p.m., Women’s Volleyball vs. Otterbein University, Timken Gymnasium

  1. Run-A-MUC

    8 a.m. 42nd Annual Run-A-MUC 5K, Peterson Field House
    Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. More information can be found here.

  2. Reunions

    9 a.m. Women’s Volleyball Alumni Game, Timken Gymnasium
    Please join us for a Mount Union Volleyball Alumni Game. Warmups will start at 8:30 a.m. This year’s alumni match will be alumni vs. alumni and feature a timed 60-minute match. Please RSVP or send any questions to Assistant Coach Maria Ellesin at ellesima@mountunion.edu by September 26.  Please designate if you will be participating in the match or just attending as a spectator; either way, we would love to have you!

    10 a.m., Women’s Basketball Alumni Day, Timken Gymnasium
    Join us for Women’s Basketball Alumni Day, featuring a variety of fun events including five-on-five full-court or half-court games, a free-throw contest, a three-point shootout, and a hot shot competition. Whether you’d like to participate or just come for a few laughs and enjoy the day, all are welcome! Following the alumni game, we’ll host a cookout around noon on campus near the outdoor basketball court behind Miller Hall.     Any year is welcome! Celebrating milestone reunions for the Classes of 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020.

    Milestone reunion photos for the following classes will be taken at the following times at the McMaster Pavilion.

    • 10:10 a.m. – Class of 1970
    • 10:20 a.m. – Class of 1975
    • 10:30 a.m. – Class of 1980
    • 10:40 a.m.– Class of 1985
    • 10:50 a.m. – Class of 1990
    • 11 a.m. – Class of 1995
    • 11:10 a.m. – Class of 2000
    • 11:20 a.m. – Class of 2005
    • 11:30 a.m. – Class of 2010
    • 11:40 a.m. – Class of 2015
    • 11:50 a.m. – Class of 2020

    10 a.m., Alumni Tennis Match and Reunion, Whitehall Tennis Courts
    Please join us for a Raider Alumni Tennis Match and Reunion during Alumni Weekend and Homecoming 2025! This year will feature singles and doubles play from both alumni and current players. Please be sure to RSVP to Coach McClure by Monday, September 29, with your preferences of singles, doubles, or just coming to support!     11 a.m.- 1 p.m., Wilderness Trip 50th Anniversary Reunion, Quad (northeast side) near Oak Hall
    Join trip alumni from all years to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Kramer, Dr. Tidman, and the Wilderness Trip as we commemorate 50 years of the trip and look forward to the future. Professors Kramer and Tidman, along with select alumni, will speak at noon. Advanced registration is required.

    Spirit Squad and Dance Team Alumni Event
    The Spirit Squads Cheer and Dance Teams will be hosting an alumni event during Alumni Weekend and Homecoming 2025. This alumni event will help support the squads attend UCA and UDA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida, in January of 2026. Join us for an exciting time on campus as we celebrate the spirit squad!

  3. Headquarters and Stations

    9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Alumni Weekend Headquarters Tent, NEW LOCATION: Quad (south side)

    9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Refreshment Tables, Hoover-Price Campus Center (HPCC)

    10:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m., International Choir Tour 2027 Information Table, Hallway, Hoover-Price Campus Center
    Loren Veigel ’75 will be present to provide information on the exciting European tour for alumni and friends, traveling through Germany and Austria, which will be offered through Witte Travel in the spring of 2027.  Please stop by to learn more about this upcoming tour and wonderful opportunity!

  4. ArtFest

    10 a.m.- 4 p.m., ArtFest, Campus Lakes
    The 61st Annual ArtFest will join Homecoming and Alumni Weekend and be held at its historic location around the Campus Lakes of Mount Union. The event will be held in conjunction with the Carnation City Food Truck Rally.  ArtFest features original works by area artists showcasing various media, including watercolor, oil, ceramics, fine crafts, photography, jewelry, and printmaking, among others. ArtFest will also feature merchants selling vintage items, plants, and bulk-created items like t-shirts, mugs, jewelry, etc. The event features items that are both on display and for sale.

  5. Brunch

    Cost: Adults $12, Kids 6-11 $7, Kids 5 and under FREE

  6. MUcaw Fun Zone

    11 a.m. - 1 p.m., MUcaw Fun Zone, Quad
    Bring the kids to the MUcaw Fun Zone for games, activities, an ice cream truck, balloon artist, face painting, and more! MUcaw will make an appearance sometime during the event.

  7. Celebrations

    3-5 p.m., Black Alumni Day Party, Campus Grounds Patio

    4-7 p.m., Dr. Cunion Still Rocks: The Reunion Tour, 1178 Northview Ave., Alliance
    You’re invited to join Dr. Bill Cunion, vice president for academic affairs, and Jesse Cunion, assistant dean of students, at their home following the football game. Drinks and appetizers will be provided (while supplies last). Stop by to reconnect with the Cunions! Advanced registration is required.

    There is no cost to attend, but please RSVP via the Alumni Weekend and Homecoming 2025 Registration Form. Pin attire is requested, and we will be joined by representatives from Alpha Xi Delta's National Council and other guests from Headquarters. Alumni Award Recipients 

DODIE DAVIS ALUMNI SERVICE AWARD

The Alumni Service Award was established in 1942 and is presented in recognition of outstanding achievement in a chosen profession or field and for service to the University or community. The award represents the highest non-academic honor an alumnus/alumna can receive from Mount Union. In 2003, the award was renamed in honor of Dodie Davis ’62 for her 35 years of service and dedication to the institution.

 

2025 Recipient – Rae McDonald ’76

 

McKINLEY FELLOW AWARD

The McKinley Fellow Award is named for former U.S. President William McKinley, who was a member of the Mount Union Board of Trustees and worked as a friend of the University for many years. This award honors a select group of individuals who have had a significant impact on Mount Union as non-alumni.

YOUNG ALUMNI AWARD

The Young Alumni Award honors and recognizes those who, at very early stages in their chosen careers or callings, exemplify what Mount Union hopes all alumni will strive to achieve upon graduating from Mount Union. The award is given to graduates within the past 15 years of their outstanding support, leadership, and dedication to the University as young alumni.
