Legacies

A Mount Union legacy is a descendant of a Mount Union alumnus/a who attends the University. This relationship includes parents, stepparents, grandparents, and step-grandparents. As a Mount Union legacy, you are part of a special tradition at Mount Union!

If you are an alumnus or alumna with children or grandchildren ages 0-16, submit the full names and birth dates to the Office of Alumni Engagement at alumni@mountunion.edu so we may keep in touch and help make Mount Union a family tradition!

Legacy Outreach

Once notified, the Office of Alumni Engagement will send your baby a special gift and an honorary admission certificate, as well as birthday cards each year (through the age of 15). Photos submitted of babies/children are published in the Mount Union Magazine (check submission deadlines).

The Office of Enrollment Services sends admission information during junior and senior years of high school. Contact their office directly to schedule a visit at (330) 823-2590. A gift is presented during a Mount Union admission campus tour to prospective legacy students.

Legacy Perks

Current Mount Union legacy students receive an exclusive legacy student t-shirt, courtesy of the Office of Alumni Engagement.

Those with a sophomore or junior student in the fall who maintain a 2.50 GPA are eligible to apply in the spring for the Susie (Oberholzer ‘73) Buckel Alumni Association scholarship which will be applied towards their tuition account the following year. The recipient of the award is recognized during Alumni Weekend.
